Security agencies must double up efforts to combat threats and attacks on journalists: KON

In recent times, journalists and media men have had this feeling of compromisation in their security due to the rampant attacks on journalist in the country. This as a result has compelled the honourable minster of information and the member of Parliament of Ofoase Ayebi in the eastern region Kojo Oppong Nkrumah, who has tasked the security services to double up their efforts in maintaining a high level of security for journalists across the country. The whole county was thrown in shock after ace broadcast journalists of (ABN) Angel Broadcasting Network Captain Smarts Tantra hills mansion was bugled by unknown buglers. Where expensive car parts were stolen early hours of Sunday December 27th 2020.

Award winning and outspoken journalist Manasseh Awuni Azzure has also been a victim of these threats and attacks on journalists after coming up with an article titled "ERRORtoral Commission and Akuffo Addo's coup d'etat" . Not leaving out  Afia Pokuaa(Vim lady) of multimedia group.

The honorable minister in a tweet indicated that, 

 “A number of journalists have reported threats and at least one (1) robbery in the aftermath of the 2020 elections. It has been suggested that these threats are associated with their work as journalists.

“It is of critical importance that our security agencies get to the bottom of these complaints and use all the legitimate means at their disposal to unmask the identities of the culprits - whatever their motives - and arrest and prosecute them with speed,”
