NTC set to train district and circuit trainers on how to use the Ghana teacher portal to help teachers build their teaching portfolios..

The National Teaching Council (NTC) is set to organize an orientation programme for five officers in each district as well as five from each region. This is as a result of the introduction of Continuous Professional Development (CPD) which forms part of building teachers’ competency.

According to a press statement signed by The Registrar of NTC- Dr Christian Addai-Poku which was shared with Listengh.net indicates that the programme will mainly focus on how to use the Ghana Teacher Portal. The said participants are the portfolio assessors who are to either to build or guide licensed teachers to build their portfolios in the circuit or the district which will lead to awarding of points towards the renewal of the yet to be distributed licenses.

It is however expected that participants will be able to input CPD points on the portal for teachers who undertake CPD activities. The participants have grouped into batches.

The participants shall include:

CATEGORY A: REGIONAL EDUCATION OFFICERS

The Regional Director
The Regional Training Officer
The Regional Officer in charge of data management
The Regional Officer in charge of supervision
The Regional Officer in Charge of Human Resource Management

CATEGORY B: DISTRICT EDUCATION OFFICERS

The District ICT officer
The District officer in charge of supervision
