Breaking News: Speaker declares NPP caucus majority in parliament

The speaker of the Legislative arm of the Ghanaian government Hon. Rtd Alban Sumani Bagbin has declared the The National Petriotic Party (NPP) caucus as the majority in parliament.

This was after  the 2nd deputy speaker of the house and the independent member of parliament for Fomena Hon. Andrews Asiamah declared his wish to do business ''elephant'' fraternity of the house. declaring who wins majority and minority of the house became a difficult task ahead of the house after both the NDC and NPP had 137 members each after the 2020 polls.

Hon. Andrews Asiamah who vowed to quit the NPP after being booted out of the 7th parliament  couple of months ago today indicated he will align with the NPP in the 8th parliament.

An official letter through which he communicated his stance  was read by the speaker to the entire house. The speaker finally stated;

"With this official declaration, the House will accord him the space to do as he has stated, so what we have now is that the NPP together with the Independent candidate of Fomena constitute the Majority group"
