Black Stars midfielder Emmanuel Agyemang-Badu retires from international football.

31st December,2020  7:11pm   Ghanaian midfielder Emmanuel Agyemang-Badu has announced his retirement from international football. The Hellas Verona midfield power house took his Instagram handle to announce his retirement. The 30 year old gained a spot in the black starts after having an impressive stint with the Black satellites of Ghana during the FIFA U20 World Cup hosted by Egypt in 2009.Badu is keenly remembered by many Ghanaian football enthusiasts for scoring the the winning penalty which made the satellites world U20 champions after beating Brazil in the grand finale. Emmanuel Agyemang-Badu featured in 5 African Cup of Nations tournaments and 2 world cups and  made 78 appearances for the Black starts of Ghana with 11 goals to his tally. Edinson Cavani banned for 3 games and fined $136,000 for 'racist' Instagram post

31st December,2020  3:15pm Manchester United's Edinson Cavani has been given a three-match ban by the Football Association for a social media post containing a Spanish phrase that is offensive in some contexts. Cavani pleaded guilty to a charge of using insulting and/or improper words. The Uruguayan sent the message after scoring United's  winner at Southampton  on 29 November. Cavani, 33, subsequently deleted the post and apologised when the meaning that could be attached was pointed out. An FA statement, with reference to new guidelines agreed in the summer, said the post was alleged to be "insulting and/or abusive and/or improper and/or brought the game into disrepute". It was also alleged "that the comment constitutes an aggravated breach" which "included reference, whether express or implied, to colour and/or race and/or ethnic origin". 30th December,2020   2:55pm The Supreme court of Ghana has set 4th January 2021 as the day to hear legal arguments in a case that could potentially determine whether or not minister of energy and embattled member of parliament elect for Hoehoe constituency honorable John Peter Amewu will be sworn in  on January 7th. 30th December,2020.    2:28pm Alliance for Social Equity & Public Accountability (ASEPA) has layed a petition before the Supreme Court of Ghana. ASEPA through the Office of the Chief Justice is calling for the exclusion of Justice Jones Dotse from all election related hearings since he is being considered for the position of Speaker of Parliament by the ruling NPP. The civil society organization believes even though the issue still remains a rumor, it is enough to prejudice the learned Judge from making any independent determination of any election related adjudication he may be part of.   30th December,2020   2:11pm Opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) has fnaly layed their much talk about petition before the Supreme Court of Ghana. This was after earlier reports that the National Executive Committee (NEC) has given the party the greenlight to preced to the headquarters of the "Matrys of rule of law" to bring before their grievances. Information reaching Yaw Indomie news indicates that the "akatamanso" have successfully completed the petitioning process and the case is now pending before the court for review before the court schedules a date for precedings to begin. OFFICIAL: Coutinho ruled out for the rest of the season

30th December,2020  11:22am Brazilian star Phillips Coutinho has been ruled out of action for the rest the season. This was after the Catalan winger only came on to replace Miralem Pjanic in the dying minutes of la liga clash with  Eibar on Tuesday but couldn't complete the  90 minutes after picking a knee problem.The winger limped off as a result. Barcelona coach Ronald Koeman confirmed after the Match that Coutinho had discomfort in his left knee and will need to run tests and scans. Results of the tests and scans revealed that the "selecao" winger has injured the lateral meniscus in his left kknee and will require an anthroscopic surgery which is expected to be conducted by famous orthopaedic specialist Dr. Ramon Cugat in the coming days. Former Liverpool defender suffers a horrific injury

29th December, 2020.            8:44pm Former Liverpool defender and Slovakian international Martin Skrtel has suffered a career threatening injury. The 37 year old defender who currently plays for Turkish defending champions Istanbul Basaksehir  fell in an unusual motion during the Turkish super lig round 15 match with Kasimpasa on the 27th of December 2020 at the Basaksehir Fatih Terim stadium in Istanbul, Turkey. As a result of the fall, the 37 year old defender raptured his Achilles tendon in his left foot and was substituted immediately. Later, he was ruled out of action for the rest of the season after further tests and scans. The defender has undergone a successful surgery in the Turkish capital,and he is expected to start his rehabilitation soon. Skrtel joined the Istanbul club in 2019 from Atalanta in the Italian Serie A and has made 44 appearances with 4 goals. He has a contract with the team until June 2021. By: Yaw Indomie

According to the petition, Maame Akua Donkor seconded to the Electoral Commission of Ghana's 2020 presidential results which indicates the flagbearer of the New Patriotic Parry NPP Nana Addo Dunkwa Akuffo Addo president elect in the just ended polls. She further went on and eulogized the chairperson of the commission Madam Jean Mensa for a wonderful work done. She further more urged the supreme court to ignore and cancel the petition brought before the court by the opposition NDC because it's never true there was irregularities and anomalies during the just ended elections. Attorney General challenges Ho High court's decision to stop Amewu's swearing in

  29th December, 2020.    3:58pm Earlier this week, an interim injunction was slated on the Electoral Commission (EC) to restraint the gazetting of John Peter Amewu as the member of Parliament elect for Hohoe constituency. The Ho high court which was presided by Justice George Buadi made the decision after an ex parte application was argued by renowed legal practitioner Tsatsu Tsikata. The honourable energy minister and NPP parliamentary aspirant pulled 26,952 votes representing  53.7% at the end of proceedings in the constituency whilst his contender Prof Margaret Quarcoe who was the parliamentary aspirant of the NDC had 21,821 votes. NDC heads to court

29th December,2020.        2:39pm The National Executive Committee of the opposition New Democratic Congress(NDC) have given the party the greenlight to proceed to lay their election results petition before the supreme court of Ghana. The party after the just ended 2020 presidential and parliamentary elections lamented bitterly that there was chunk of irregularities and anomalies in the collation and counting of the election results which they described as incompetency on the part of the chairperson of the Electoral commission Madam Jean Mensa and her entourage and the opposition party was highly convinced that the commission formed an alliance with the ruling government to rigg the the elections in favour of the NPP. GCB extends banking hours.

29th December,2020.    9:20AM The Ghana Commercial Bank Limited (GCB) has made alterations in its working hours, this was after the management of the institution decided to make make more time for their cherished customers by extending their banking hours. The time for opening which used to be 9am has been pulled back to 8:30am and also the time for closing has been extended from 3pm to 4pm. The country’s   new variant   of the coronavirus, 501.V2, is more contagious and has quickly become dominant in many areas of the resurgence, according to experts.  warning came as   South Korea   became the latest country to detect cases of the Covid variant that is   believed to have originated in the UK .  With South Africa’s hospitals reaching capacity and  no sign of the new surge reaching a peak , Ramaphosa is expected to announce a return to restrictive measures designed to slow the spread of the disease. “We are not helpless in the face of this variant,” infectious disease specialist, Dr Richard Lessells told Associated Press. “We can change our behaviour to give the virus less opportunities to spread.”...
