Breaking News: Coronavirus kills 6 mortuary workers

  News information coming in and at the disposal  of Yaw Indomie News has revealed that 6 workers of a  mortuary are said to have died from the deadly  coronavirus whiles doing their jobs has raised a lot of  fears amongst people. General Secretary for Mortuary Workers Association of  Ghana (MOWAG), Richard Kofi Jordan during an  interview stated that the death of the six people was said  to have happened within a month stating the dates as  being from December 2020 and January 20, 2021.  Richard Jordan who was on the "Asem Beba Dabi' show  hosted by Akosua Agyeiwaa Kodie on Otec FM revealed  that the 6 workers contracted the virus and died due to  the unavailability of the Personal Protective Equipment  (PPE)which the mortuary workers needed in other to  protect themselves. NTC set to train district and circuit trainers on how to use the Ghana teacher portal to help teachers build their teaching portfolios..

  The National Teaching Council (NTC) is set to organize an orientation programme for five officers in each district as well as five from each region. This is as a result of the introduction of Continuous Professional Development (CPD) which forms part of building teachers’ competency. According to a press statement signed by The Registrar of NTC- Dr Christian Addai-Poku which was shared with Listengh.net indicates that the programme will mainly focus on how to use the Ghana Teacher Portal. The said participants are the portfolio assessors who are to either to build or guide licensed teachers to build their portfolios in the circuit or the district which will lead to awarding of points towards the renewal of the yet to be distributed licenses. It is however expected that participants will be able to input CPD points on the portal for teachers who undertake CPD activities. The participants have grouped into batches.   23rd January,2021                    11:41am A 24-year-old unemployed, Bright Ofori has been  arrested after he clubbed to death 35 years old  Muniru Mohammed Haddi at Assin Awisem in the  Assin Fosu Municipality of the Central Region over a  ¢10.00 dispute.  The Chief Prosecutor at Twifo Ati-Morkwa District  Magistrate Court, Detective Inspector Joshua Kusah  explained to Kasapa FM News Yaw Boagyan that on  Saturday 16th January 2021, Assin Awisem Police  received a report that the accused person has hit his  friend with a stick at about 6:30pm. Laptops for teachers ready for distribution.

  17th Januaary,2021                     1:32pm All government teachers at the pre-tertiary level are expected to receive a Government of Ghana subsidized laptop to enhance effective and efficient teaching and learning amid the introduction of the much talked about new curriculum. The initiative which is to help teachers to get abreast with  I.T advancement in the education sector was implemented and executed by the Teacher Unions and the Ghana Education Service (GES) states that the total cost of the laptops which is Ghc1,550 will be split between the Government of Ghana and teachers by 70% and 30% respectively. A total payment of Ghc465.00 is supposed to be made by every teacher to cover the 30% of the cost with a monthly deduction of Ghc38.72 from salaries through the Controller and Accountant General's department (CAGD). COVID -19 kills nurse in Bolgatanga

  16th January,2021                           4:32pm A nurse at the War Memorial hospital in Bolgatanga in the Kassena-Nankana Municipality of the Upper East Region has died after battling deadly global pandemic COVID-19. According to the chairman of the Ghana registered Nurses and  Midwives Association(GRNMA) of the Municipality, Mr. Habib Mahama, the unfortunate incident happened on Friday, January 15. He further indicated that, the deceased worked at the pediatric unit of the hospital until her untimely demise at the Regional treatment center in Bolgatanga.  Mr Mahama also called on the management of the hospital to close down  the facility for fumigation to ensure proper and safe health care delivery. Yoweri Museveni wins Ugandan polls in his quest for 6th term as president.

 Incumbent president of republic of Uganda Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has extended his reign to 35 years after winning the Ugandan polls. According to reports emerging from the capital Kampala, which was reported by BBC Africa, Museveni secured 58.6% of the total valid votes whiles his opponent Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu poporlurly known as ''Bobi Wine'' who was at heart of almost all the young Ugandans to win had 34.8% of valid votes cast. Museveni 73, who ascended the throne in 1983 has ruled the east African country for almost 4 decades with a totalitarian system of governance which some sections of Ugandans describe as primitive and outdated. Bobi wine on the other hand has indicated not to accept the outcome because the elections was flooded with anomalies and irregularities since Museveni has has absolute control and power over The Electoral Commission of Uganda. Merchants to demand IDs for MTN MoMo transactions from February 1

  16th January,2021                     10:13am Effective February 1st, 2021 users of MTN Mobile money(MOMO) will be required tp present a valid national identification before transactions can be made at merchant and agent points. According to telecommunications giants MTN, identification cards include Ghana card, Driving license, voters ID, NHIS are the eligible identification cards for making transactions. MTN Ghana further noted that, when an agent is performing a cash-out for a subscriber, the agent is required to select ID type and enter ID number of the card the user provides. The move according to MTN Ghana is to encourage digitization of merchant payment in Ghana's open market and to serve as a mechanism to control fraudulent transactions. By: Yaw Indomie

Soldier in court for allegedly having sex with minor.

13th January,2021                             12:45pm A 30-year-old Soldier, Corporal Offei Richard Okyere, has appeared before an Accra Circuit Court, for allegedly having multiple sex with a 14-year-old girl at Burma Camp, Accra . The accused, who has been charged with defilement, has pleaded not guilty.  The Court presided over by Mrs Adelaide Abui Kadey, remanded Okyere into Military custody to reappear on January 27.
